Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter, an American film and actress, is renowned for her performance in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. The actress won numerous awards, including an Oscar for the movie Piano. Her acting career began with Broadway by performing in a range of Broadway as well as Off Broadway projects. As a child, Helen Keller was her favourite character in a fifth year play. The fifth grade was the year that after having mumps she lost her hearing in her left ear. But she didn't let it stop her from performing. While in college, she took classes in theatre and later moved from Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania, to New York City in pursuit of her dreams. Hunter was introduced to Beth Henley by chance in the lift. Together they composed Broadway Crimes of the Heart. It was Hunter's acting debut. Her first film role came when she moved from Los Angeles. She has since appeared in numerous movies, television shows and films over the course of a 30 year career. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame actress and was awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
