Holly Hunter was an American actor who was famous for the films Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Her film Piano won her an Oscar. At a young age she began acting on stage in several Broadway or Off Broadway productions. She is a lover of acting since she was in school. The first time she appeared in a show in the fifth grade was in Helen Keller. The fifth grade was the year that following a bout of mumps, she lost hearing in the left ear. However, she did not let it stop her from performing. When she was a teenager She studied acting and eventually moved to New York City. Hunter had her Broadway debut after an accidental meeting in the company of Beth Henley, a playwright. The two worked together in Broadway Crimes of the Heart. After moving from Los Angeles she tried to find film roles, and was able to secure a supporting role for the role of a supporting character in Swing Shift. Her professional career spans over 30 years and she's appeared in many TV movies or series, as well as films. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and was awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
